Synscan upgrade problem

I use the forbidden fruit computer -- Apple.

Need to upgrade my Synscan firmware [have an earlier version than me Az-EQ5 mount], but was told in its downloaded instructions to use Windows. Once had WINE [Windows is not an emulator] on my previous Apple that was stolen, but could never get it to run after that on my replacement Apple Laptop, so that I gave up.

.So can it be uploaded by a Mac without the Commercial Parallels program ?

Hi John,

Parallels is not the only virtualisation software out there. I regularly use 'Virtual Box' on my Mac for testing things out. It's a free download from virtualbox.org - just remember to grab the extension pack as well so that you have proper USB support.

You can download an installation ISO of Windows 10 from Microsoft. It will whine and complain about not being able to register itself, but will still run perfectly.

These two should be enough to get you up and running.

Cheers,
V
