I'm selling my old
Skyshed POD observatory, as buildings and trees no longer make this workable for me. I had considered keeping until I could relocate it to a remote site, but the Minister for Finance has said it has to go!
The POD has 1 bay with 2 shelves, the walls are grey, and the dome is white. The observatory also has the optional slot panels that can reduce effects of wind and stray light.
The attached photos show the dome as it was constructed (scopes not included!). It has subsequently been disassembled and power washed and is ready for collection.
Shipping is obviously not an option - you will need a large trailer or small truck (I hired a small truck when I bought it) to collect it, and I can help with loading. The panels are all able to be lifted by one person, although the dome sections require 2-3 people due to the shape. Can easily be put back together and all hardware is included. There are lots of videos for those interested and I can explain how all the bits fit together.
The obs was second hand when I got it, and one or two of the seams need to be rechalked with sealant as shown in the close-up photo (dismantling the obs may have caused the seals to break). I have priced it to reflect this. You will also need to buy new rubber seal for the pivot points, but these can be picked up at Bunnings and I can show you want is involved.
I am also throwing in a dome cover that I bought to match the dome. One side has been stained by some leaf litter from the trees while it was being stored but doesn't affect the use. The cover cost me $800 alone.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Asking $2000 ONO.
