Can somebody help me?

On Friday night about sunset, I was not able to photgraph it, there was a solid cigar-shaped object near the SW horizon. I am in the North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, I was near the Ivanhoe Golf Course.

Mmmm more data please. Size, color, movement how far off did it appear to you?

If the Sun is behind the object you are looking at cloud be all sorts of mirages, more light off an object can change its appearence.

What do you think it was..your impressions and feelings.

Alex I thought you were going to have a talk to your M8's from outa space to keep this side of the border and get some experienced pilots as well,they keep going of course,first to South Wales now South of New South Wales keep this up and we'll have to rip up there WPA

If you are in the NE suburbs and you saw it to the SW, that would put it over the top of Melbourne. Could be any sort of advertising blimp.
