2.3m Sirius Observatory

This is the manual version, of this (no longer available) venerable, iconic astronomical observatory, anything similar available new, will cost many $1000's more!

It is in decent, tidy and clean condition and operates very well, requiring just a couple of fingers to rotate. A lovely simple telescope housing solution, with motorisation and ultimately automation both certainly possible for the motivated individual! The only slight blemish is, I repaired a small section (~25cm) of torn rubber seal on the bottom of the dome, using a length of rubber weather shield, a couple of years ago and it continues to work perfectly well

The unit has a pad-lockable access door and a single storage locker, for your computer.

Full schematic drawings of this Sirius model can be seen HERE

You will need to pickup from Wallaroo, just north of Canberra and as I did quite easily and successfully, when I acquired it, you will need a trailer (or pickup/flat bed truck) a couple of mates/assistants and a tool box...plus some plastic bags and blank labels (to help catalogue/label the panels, pieces and your screws and fasteners, to assist with re-assembly). Should take you about 2-4hrs to dismantle off the deck, load and secure (I may be able to assist too)

Price is $2500 pickup [SOLD]

Cheers

Mike

Sirius Observatories

Michael,
Just to clarify, Sirius Observatories are being manufactured again by Owen Ogden in the Brisbane area. Should they be required, Owen can supply spares and replacements for most parts.
Regards,
Chris
