Ngc1788

This image is of NGC1788 located in the constellation of Orion. The main nebula is a reflection nebula which looks very similar to M42. The nebula is surrounded by both emission and dark nebula within this field. It is a little off the well beaten tracks within the constellation.

The image has 21.4 hours of integration with the bulk being in Ha and Luminance. All data was acquired at Swan Reach Imaging.

Very nice Paul, cool dust and I like the way it glows, almost blindingly

Great image of an interesting object, Paul. It looks challenging with the dark colours. Very well done.

Under current weather conditions, it would take me a few years to collect this amount of data. I wonder whether the Tonga volcano eruption in January of this year has something to do with the unusual weather here (besides El Nina).

I have to agree with all these comments, this is a very nice image. From the colour contrast to the clean diffraction spikes. Skillfully acquired and processed. Well done.

Really nice image! I like the Ha blend, nicely highlighting the Ha without overwhelming the image.
