Rosette

Venturing further into longer exposures, 180s this time.
-10C, 200 gain and 25 offset.
The clouds, far more than planning, decided how many subs of each filter.
About 3.5hrs each SHO with syth L

ASI1600MM + Antlia Pro
EON85 + EQ6R
NINA + PI

LSHO with 0.73 green
Most of the saturation came from the stretch (GHS)

Comments & criticisms most welcome.

That is perhaps the best rendition of the Rose that I have seen.

I would be trotting off to office works and printing one out to cover the largest room in your bedroom...plus another for the lounge room of course.

Well done.

Alex

As the others have already said - great colours (with a fantastic depth to them, too) and so much detail to see,

Very well done!

Cheers,
V

Cheers Alex, you're too kind.

How about airbrushed on the tailgate of a panel van?

nice indeed

John, as the others have said colour and especially detail is very good. I f I might say the vertical colour bands at the edges could be removes/reduced. AstoPixel Processor would probably do a good job of that, you might try the free trial version, I liked APP enough to but y it and have grown to appreciate it, with help from IIS members.

Cheers Chris, well spotted. There is some vignetting that was quite stubborn (ABE, DBE, restretch), so when one combo ended up with it the same hue as the fluffy bits I whistled a bit and called it art I have APP but few clues on how to use it well

clues

John, in my thread "Yet another first effort with helix" I received advice that has worked for me. in particular a post by David offers advice that I think is relevant to your case

With APP my general process is after stacking:
-Crop
-Correct light pollution (also calibrates background at same time)
-Calibrate star colours (try diff options and settle on what looks best)
-star reduction (rarely used)
-saturation/contrast/sharpen in small (emphasis on small) measures

Chris

John, just fantastic colours. You've really put that mono camera and narrow band filters to good use!

Cheers Chris, I'll have a go at it tonight, hopefully.

Thanks Stephane, the OSC is feeling neglected at the moment, better sort that out.

Cheers Alex, honestly I feel it's more luck than anything, if pictures could contain the swearing that they heard during their taking/processing I had 3 previous goes at processing it and fought with sky glow (3/4 moon) in O and S. ABE DBE & masks all didn't quite work for me this time.
