Getting through some data from last week (falling waaay behind in processing) - here's a few shots from 4th Dec.
Interesting always to see the comparison between IR and RGB in what is revealed. Seeing still very challenging.
That's excellent. I imagine you haven't managed to capture much this week with the windy conditions.
Thanks mate. Yeah no pics in the last week but some nice views with the binoviewers in those fleeting moments. Last night calmed down but some of the worst seeing of the season unfortunately. Packed away the eyepieces after about 10min
Wow, really great images David, love 'em!!
Some terrific detail and processing. The animation is very effective
The weather has turned even nastier here as well ... sigh!

Thanks Clare & Peter. Yes I really liked the animation blinking between the different wavelengths too. Still haven’t had a single night of truely good seeing but feel I processed them a bit better than last time. Cheers
Impressive captures David, you could use the IR image as a luminance layer with your OSC data and really give it some impact.
Thanks Michael- yes I did think of that but tbh my image processing ability is still at “sliders” and hasn’t graduated to “layers” yet I might see if I can work it out in PS at some stage if I can’t get some better seeing.

I had a go at doing just that, merging your RGB and IR in PS. I think you would agree that it's given your image a 3D look. If you would like me to post the result let me know, I didn't want to do it without asking you first.

I haven't had much of an opportunity to target Mars yet as the poor weather we have here in Melb is getting the better of us, but the next few days is looking promising to do my first attempt at it.

Hi David, this is your RGB and IR data merged together to enhance the great detail you already had. I used the IR image as a luminance layer in Photoshop. You did really well capturing these considering the low altitude of Mars viewed from southern latitudes.

Wow mate that’s really effective thanks for that. Especially since not even using the full size images! I’m wondering if I could bother you for a “luminance layers for dummies” process I’d love to have a bit more of a play with this. My wife has PS on her work laptop so might add this to my workflow…
Thanks again!
