LMC 2014 2020 L-Ultimate

Also NGC 1955 and others

The Large Magellanic cloud is full of exotic nebulae and Bok Globules
I managed 2 nights imaging this area, an offshoot of the Tarantula Nebula
8.5 hours in total all 600 seconds each
Optolong L-ultimate filter (no halos)
Ha luminance extracted using Astropixel Processor and RGB using Astropixel processor
Processed in Photoshop
TS-Optics 130 APO
riccardi 0.75 reducer
ZWO asiair
ZWO 294MC pro
Skywatcher NeQ6 mount

The beauty of the filter is no halos so one less processing step to worry about.
Also the moon was half full and high in the sky from most of the night when it was very warm last weekend. So very happy how it turned out.

Unhappy they don't come in 1.25 inch size . Cant fit the 2 inch in my current filter wheels

Hi Nik,

What I’ve often admired in your images is how natural they look. This one is no exception. On my screen I had to warm it up slightly as it had a touch too much blue tinge but as far as detail and structure goes I really like it. Nice work again

On my screen the black is neutral, if anything I thought it was slightly and I mean a minuscule magenta. This on my Mac Cinema display.

That’s stunning mate. Especially in the big version there’s just so much to take in! The contrast and definition is beautiful - that filter really looks like a great asset for osc imaging.
