The best I can get from the Toucam

These 3 images that I captured tonight are about as good as I can get the Modded Toucam to go.

I have pushed further than anyone should push!!!!

Minor Processing as I am happy with the way they came from the Toucam, just cleaned up a bit.

Time for a new Camera
I hope you like them, they took a lot of work to get!

1. Orion heavily over-exposed and levels pushed
2. Omega Centauri
3. Trifid even more exposed than Orion Neb and levels pushed

Ooo, and I forgot this one.

A single image of NGC 6530 Open Cluster in Lagoon Nebula. I only got one image as the lightning started and I had to pack up!

They look fantastic Ken. You've come a long way with that camera.

If you are considering a new camera, should I keep my eye out for a used Toucam on the 'for sale' pages soon?

Wow! Thanks everyone, that's a big rap. I am so happy with the results, pity a lightning storm had to come and ruin the rest of the session. The seeing was 9/10!!!! Best I've seen it for about 2 years.

Andrew, when I step up, I won't be selling the Modded Toucam. I will pass it along. And hopefully whoever gets it will also pass it along too.

Al, although cooling will decrease the amount of Amp Glow, the Toucam will still give star blooms even when cooled. There's only so much light that will fit into the pixels on a Toucam before they overflow and flood the surrounding pixels.

The best YOU can do with a ToUCam?
I think that might be the best that ANYONE can do with a ToUCam!

I love the trifid and M42 especially!

Yeah, I know the problem well, Ken. I was just being a bit cheeky since HOughy's cooled camera is performing so well! Hence the "".

But I always like it when someone can push something simple/cheap/inferior to perform like something more complex/expensive/superior...

Again, you've done well with the ToUcam.

Al.

Dunno Nick, I haven't seen many DSO images by Modded Toucam on the net. Maybe I'm just putting mine up so people can see them and there may be others who put there's in obscure places which are hard to find, I dunno

Surely there must be others getting results somewhere, or the Modded Toucam wouldn't have got its reputation as a good DSO mod in the first place.
