Painting the dome

I've just been doing some maintenance painting of my 3m dome.

As it's 2m off the ground as well, this used to be a pain.

Now that I've installed the remote fob relays from Jaycar, I can just stay in one spot on the ladder and rotate new areas to paint towards me!

Best outdoor painting experience I've had since the 1960's...

Now how clever is that, very practical indeed.

Yes, very nifty approach indeed . Be good to have that capability with my 3M Scooedome too the previous model came with a remote control but not the latest versions, wonder if I could do the same as you? What did you do regarding the relays from JayCar?

Thanks Mike.

Basically, after bashing my head trying to incorporate them into the Lesvedome setup instead of manual switches, I put them in parallel and used two switches to alternate between the systems.

There are a few YouTubes about using relays to switch DC motors so I followed them. I can probably put together a wiring diagram if wanted.

The relay set is:

(It was on special for $49.95 when I got it. $99.95 is a bit steep!)

Hmm? Ok, thanks Nev I guess my dome is ultimately intended to be fully computer controlled and for isolated, remote, unattended, even autonomous operations, sure, but I wish Scopedome hadn't gotten rid of this functionality, having a remote control FOB to be able to turn the dome on demand, without being inside and without a computer, as you have illustrated, seems like a useful thing to me..?
