Bretti???

Hi everyone.

Is there anyone interested going to Bretti in October?

The dates could be around 27 till 30th.

It is still quite some time to go and I'm just trying to find out any interest.

Rado

Hi Rado,
If the weather improves, it is certainly worth considering.

100%, if weather is not good, no need to go. We can decide a few days before, if it is worthwhile to go.

It's one week before Bretti and it looks the weather could be good on Friday, Saturday.

I'll be going on Friday morning and I will stay at the usual spot we usually stay if free.

If anyone is interested to come, you welcome and if anyone wants to come on Thursday, let me know.

There might be some chance of rain on Thursday, but not that much.

Just have to watch the weather.
Not sure how soggy the ground is.

Just a reminder, Bretti sits at the junction if two small rivers, and with the amount of rain falling and forecast for that catchment, moisture and condensation will be a fact in the evening. I agree that ground saturation could be a problem if camping. I recall photos of the river having risen up the farm driveway over the causway. Just keep an eye on conditions out Gloucester way, before venturing out.

Hmmm!

Just rang mid coast council tourist information who said the reserve is open, no flood warnings for the area in immediate future, but it will be wet and muddy.
The weather is expected to "fine up" during the coming week, but it will be a bit on the soggy side.

Your call

I'm erring on the side of caution at this point.
Last thing I want is to be bogged, without phone coverage.

...but still considering, if others are.

Today, Sydney was hammered with rain, at least east coast of Sydney.
I spoke to Gloucester office which looks after Bretti and I was told that it's open but it could be soggy ground, he said.
He also said the rivers are fine.
The weather looks very good for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There shouldn't be much rain from this afternoon.
Anyway, if anyone wants to come most likely I'll be there from Friday midday till Sunday.
Also I will be watching weather conditions there for next few days if to abandon the trip.

Allan, don't be sorry. I don't think there are many people going.

I just came back from Bretti.

Friday and Saturday nights were very clear with some dew but observing conditions were very good. Very happy.

Today overcast was setting in.
There were not that many people there maybe around twenty or so in whole area.

The ground was very green and firm, only top area of the campsite was boggy, 4WD only.

Plenty water in the river and happy cows around.

I will send some pictures when I have them processed.

Geoff, I'll be going there now bit more often with short notice here to anyone interested to come alone.

If I see weather is promising for the weekend and timing is good I will go, even if it is Friday, Saturday night.

Hopefully, Central Coast and people from around will have some interest to come.
