Their VC200L 200mm f/9 Catadioptric Telescope is neither a Schmidt-Cassegrain or a Maksutov-Cassegrain, but rather a unique creation all its own: a catadioptric Vixen Sixth-Order Aspheric Cassegrain (VISAC) optical system, one of the most sophisticated optical designs available on the market today.

This design is free of coma and field curvature, as well as spherical and chromatic aberrations. Especially noteworthy is its sharpness and flatness at the edges, which far exceeds that of Schmidt-Cassegrain systems of the same aperture. It provides a pinpoint star image less than 15 microns, even at the edges of its 42mm image circle. If you're looking for a photographic catadioptric, this is an excellent choice.

The primary mirror is a unique innovation: A precise sixth-order shape produced by Vixen's High-Precision Poly-Order Aspherical Mirror Molding Technique.

Rack-and-pinion focusing mount accepting optional 2.00" eyepieces/accessories
Available f/6.4 focal reducer for photographic use

Open tube design eliminates dew problems common to conventional Schmidt/Maksutov-Cassegrain systems

If shipping is required it will be double boxed with protective foam packing noodle

Looks very cool

Very cool looking scope.

So is this an all rounder, more oriented toward visual or photography, deep sky or planetary?
