Orion region

bit of a test on Orion with 105mm lens at f2.8. Dodged some pretty awful weather last weekend in QLD. Started imaging at 1am with Orion a bit low in the sky. A quick WBPP in pixinsight, will try a couple of different rejections to improve the stars, the subs have better stars, amazing field, looking forward to revisiting this again.

Beautiful!

Amazing to think if our eyes were just a bit more sensitive...

Impressive!

Took me a while to work out it was a really wide view and that I was looking at Barnard's Loop, with the HorseHead as the tiny black speck in the centre.

Perhaps the only issue I have is what looks like a green tint around the Orion Nebula.

Cheers,
V

Thanks for the comments Steve and Neville. I left the green border on M42 to see if someone may know the cause. I suspect maybe an artifact of the rejection algorithm in WBPP. I havn't had time to do much with the image ats. Just wanted to do a quick stack and curves to see if my hard fought data acquistion was worth it.
