Am selling my 8 inch F4 imaging Newtonian.
Comes with:
- 2 speed crayford focuser (very good focuser for the price)
- 8x50 finderscope
- Primary mirror fan for faster cool down (i've lost the battery pack but the fan still works if connected to 12v dc)
- 2 inch to 1.25 inch converter, 2 inch extension tube (required to reach focus with eyepieces and dedicated astro cam)
- Original box included (the double cardboard boxes it came in)
I've had this for a year and used it primarily for EAA. Over the course of the year i've modded it, now it has:
- longer vixen dovetail to help with precise balancing
- Bob's knobs with the stronger springs for primary mirror support, now holds collimation better
- Flocked the inside of the OTA with specialist flocking material resulting in greatly increased contrast
- painted the borders of the primary and secondary mirror black to increase contrast (I was very careful with the paint, there are no paint marks on the reflecting surface of either mirror)
- flocking material on the back of the OTA to prevent stray light

Reason for selling I've recently bought a C9.25 and this has been sitting idle for a few months......I would rather someone use it.

The price is very low considering I've added at least $200 of modifications. But I'd rather someone use it than it sitting idle in my room
I've added 2 pictures taken with this scope, they are not great pictures by any measure but please note that I'm mostly doing EAA with no calibration frames and no guiding (did use darks for calibration though). Also did not get the spacing from coma corrector right
