Look out!

Could be a few good nights (tonight/tomorrow night) on the way.

The synoptic looks good, while the jetstream map is showing real promise - especially for Friday night/ Saturday morning.

It's been a while since conditions were favourable for planetary observing/ imaging.

Even the cloud looks like it might play nice for the SE of the continent

It looks to me like it's already breaking up over central NSW etc...

I wouldn't give up on clear skies late tonight. Fingers crossed for you, bud

Otherwise, I'll capture an extra couple of AVIs just for you

I hope at least you get a go Matt.

Gonna be interesting.

8.45pm and already 90% humidity.

The scope, surface of table and chair, and all other bits and pieces are dripping with dew

The Kendrick dew heater's gonna be fully cranked!!!

And here, sadly. Scope is set up in the back yard. I got 15 min of Saturn and a few minutes of Venus before it clouded over. I'll look later and maybe 4:30am for the Moon.

Midnight - cloud; 5am - cloud!

Ain't it the way. Now clearing to a beautiful day and forecast is for clear nights for next few days - but I have to travel interstate!

Well in typical Melbourne fashion it was cloudy at 1am and again at 3am in the inner North.
A small gap in the clouds at 3 am showed very stable conditions with nil wind, so bummer. Better luck in the next 2 nights for all Melbournites.
