May Challenge Object - M104

Hi all.

We'd love you to take part in the May Observing Challenge. Please post your observing reports and sketches for M104 in this thread. Discussions about the object can also be in this thread.

Please ensure scanned sketches obey the image posting guidelines when you attach them.

For deep-space images of the object, see the "Deep Space" astrophotography forum.

Well there wqas no mistaking this lovely bright Galaxy for anything else
Came up nicely in our LX-90, with a bright condensed core, streching out to show a long "cigar" shape.

Dave47Tuc showed me how to star hop to M104 at the starparty. I'm was very happy as that was the first time I had star hopped. I even managed to see it back in Melbourne although it was barely visible let alone recognisable in my 10" Dob.
