That's a disaster!! All those sharp edges should have been smoothed off - someone will do themselves a serious injury if they run their leg into it.

That’s the least of their problem as I can see the cross pin being ripped straight through the grain of the wood. Maybe it’s high tensile ‘hard wood’.

Another step towards a greener car!

Good to see its radiata pine for sustainable forestry I say, easy to work and quick to replace in softwood... a lot of thought I say.

Ps. You'd go out of your way if you saw that pull up at the lights and towing...

There's a serious risk of splinters in the hand.

That’ll last maybe 2-300m before being shredded out. Soft wood and a pin in the direction of grain… hilarious

That towbar has been fitted to the wrong car - it is obviously intended for something like the attached image. (Or maybe it's for a Morgan, so as to not overstress the wooden chassis rails?)

Wood is stronger than steel in an earthquake, so obviously a superior solution.

Wood is under going an amazing transformation with modern science.

Compressed wood which breaks down the gaps in the cellulous using chemicals and pressure is said to be the steel of the future. There are plans to replace steel in sky scrappers with compressed wood in construction. Same with cars in fact... or any steel reliant product.

Other are taking the dyes from wood and we have opaque wood already, they are aiming for windows to be made from wood.

In 50 years mining could be replaced by forestry for a lot of our construction/industry needs.
