New Guy from Texas
Howdy folks,
Actually I'm a "Yankee" from the smallest state in America (Rhode Island) who migrated to Texas. It's a pleasure to be among your numbers here. I'm looking forward to sharing and learning.
Here are some of my images http://www.buytelescopes.com/gallery...ry.asp?c=25751
And here's my main website www.geocities.com/astrodad32
Cheers,
max

Welcome Max!
Are you off to the Texas Star Party? I ask because a few of our Aussie Members will be going, including Ausastronomer (John Bambury) and Gary (Gary Kopff). You should look out for them.

Thanks to all for the kind words. You won't believe this, but I have never made it to a TSP! This year, I'm speaking at an event in Washington, DC on the 13th and not returning till the 16th. I'm jealous of everyone in the southern hemisphere after taking a cruise to the western Caribbean this Spring. I bought some 25x100 binos and got an eyeful of the Crux, Eta Carinae and most everything short of the S and LMCs. I was only down to 18 deg. N so that's as good as it got.

Hi Max,
Thanks for the post and welcome to the forum.
As Rod mentioned, pity you have an engagement in Washington as
otherwise it would be nice to meet you at TSP.
The two big nights will be the Friday 18th and Saturday 19th, so if
you are back in Texas then and get the chance to mosey on over to
Fort Davis we would look forward to saying howdy.
Beyond that, highly recommend you make your way Down Under some time,
where the Milky Way is near the zenith here in Sydney. Quite a few
fellow Texan observers have been here only in the past two months and
more are expected in October for some prime deep sky observing.
Once again, thanks for the introduction and welcome.
Best Regards

Hi Gary,
Yes, David Moody "BIC" told me all about his adventures with you guys while we were at our club's dark site in Oklahoma. We're very fortunate to have 40 acres, wifi, pads with AC, and sleeping quarters. My hope is that "work" will take me down under some time soon.
Cheers,
max
