M83 The Southern Pinwheel Galaxy

Hi everyone.

Conditions were looking promising 04.06.22, however,
as usual, all good things must come to an end, and the weather
deteriorated rapidly.

Managed to get enough data to try SiRiL.

Once again, I am happy with the results.

Something I have noted is the change in resolution and colour from
monitor to monitor.

It certainly does make things challenging !

Details as follows:

13 x 300 seconds
RC6 with home brew reducer
183mc Pro
Skywatcher Az Eq 6-GT
Guided and dithered

Processed in SiRiL
Cropped to remove 183MC amp glow
prior to processing.

Thanks for looking.

Well done mate! Yes the change in image brightness/contrast/colour between monitors it quite pronounced. My wife has photoshop on her work pc but I do my stacking and processing on my Mac which is faster. It’s very tricky moving images between the two. I usually just go with what looks better on the better quality/higher res screen, but I know some people have specially calibrated monitors to address this exact same issue.

Paul,
That’s a fine image of M83 for such short integration and deteriorating conditions
Your really churning them out now , great to see !!!
Well done !!
Just a suggestion, maybe some Decon or Sharpening might expose the arms a tad more

Cheers
Martin
