My son wants to take songs of some of his cd's and convert them to Mp3's to put onto his ipod. Is there a Shareware/Freeware program that someone knows of that can help him out with??

I'm no iPod guru, but I thought that iTunes could do this for you (which you need if you have an iPod anyway, so no additional downloads).

I just tried his iTunes program and it will do the job that he wants. Kids, if only they try the software that comes with the package .Thanks for the input anyway.

Exact Audio Copy is good (and freeware), it will decript copy protected stuff as well, which I don't believe the others will. http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/
