AZ-GTI reset issue

Mount was working on WI-FI (tablet)till I tried to upgrade with a new MCU file via wifi from win10 pc. Now just 3 flashes from leds(firmware reset) and tablet now only sees SYNSCAN with no ID. Router and apps all off.
1. Can I run mount via usb to pc to reload firmware?
2. Any secret to the reset process?
Some solutions on stargazer lounge/cloudy nights didnt fix.

Hi Philip,

I have an azeq6 and an azgti, fortunately I’ve never had an issue updating firmware over WiFi or direct pc connection.

You may have bricked the mount and may need help from SW.

It’s worth trying to connect the mount to a pc and retry the flash.

Number of ways to do this:

Eq Dir cable from mount to pc (rj45 port on the mount to usb on pc)

SW usb dongle (plugs into rj45 port on mount) to pc (using a standard usb cable thereafter)

SynScan hand controller to pc (the GTI didn’t used to come with a HC so don’t know if you have one or purchased separately). The cable to pc would vary depending on the connection at the bottom of the HC.

One of RJ11, USB or serial port….to usb at the pc end. SW mounts come with this usually, but again, not the GTI I think, then u put HC in usb direct mode.

Thanks all fixed. Quite straightforward really.
condition 3 leds flashing wifi broadcasts synscan or ESPxxxxx
Cannot connect mount to synscan app
Purchased skywatcher usb dongle. Connected this via printer cable to Windows PC with Prolific driver installed.
Download version 178 firmware loader. Download MC014 version 3.36 MCU
Connect cable and turn mount on.
Unzip and run 178 loader file. select unzipped 3.36 MCU firmware. Uncheck Handset option. Check auto com port and update.
progress % is displayed. When finished turn mount off/on. If two leds flashing you are ready to connect to the wifi synscan_xxxx, Open the app and connect to the AZ-GTI mount.
USB dongle fromAstro Anarchy the key. Probably works with other mounts
