ASiair Plus Setting home position

Has anyone yet discovered a way to set a different home position with the ASiair? In my ROR setup it would be very helpful if I could change the mount CWD home position to one where the CW is horizontal.

Set the home position when it is switched off then start and use it as normal, it will then go back to its original position you left it as home

I used eqmod instead of the handset it makes a massive difference. Also try a plate solve before you start?

Massive difference? In what way?

I’m running the EQmod cable from my nEQ6pro to ASIair plus and before this I was using the hand controller with the ASIair.

My own experience is there is not much of a difference other then not having the HC in the chain. With the HC you turn on the mount, you put in a date & time then power up the AIR and sync the phone/tab position date/time to mount. Without the HC you power up the mount, then the air and sync the phone/tab to mount. Other then that everything is the same. The big requirement is you need to start the alignment with the mount pointing close to the SCP.

Where I see the EQMOD cable maybe being a “massive” difference is if your using a PC with EQDirect.

In regards to plate solving before you start the alignment process… I think I have done this and the mount went it all weird directions afterwards, but I will try that method again.
