Need help with an Excel chart Y axis

I'm putting together an excel chart atm and I can't for the life of me remember how to define the y axis. Atm Excel is picking it's own numbers but I want to use the ones I provide. For example I have two columns like this

Variance MeanPV
884.06 97.4368
1219.97 195.8712

Etc.
I want to use the Variance for the Y axis and the Mean Pixel Value for the X axis. When I use the chart wizard I can get the x-axis np but not link the y-axis to the variance.

How can I do this?? I'm sure there is a way but I can't remember how???

Assuming you have selected the correct chart type in Step 1 of the Chart Wizard i.e. XY (scatter).

In Step 2 click on the 'Series' tab at the top of the window and from there you can select the X and Y data to use yourself.

Hi Paul,

Select the data as in your post, numbers only, select chart wizard, chart type XY scatter with lines. Select data range columns, from A2 to B3 (for your specimen) and in Series select X values B2:B3, Y values A2:A3. In Titles, type in a chart title, and X axis label, Y axis label. Finish the wizard, then right click on the axis values and format axis, number tab, no decimals (this is only for display not calculation)

Hope this assists
