Galaxy M83 - Southern Pinwheel

Hi all,

here's my latest attempt at M-83. The image is 14 x 3-min. exposures with modded Canon 300D on 12" observatory mounted f/5 newtonian.

You can see a better resolution image and other imaging details at this link

regards to all

Beautiful image Paul!

On the bottom edge of the frame there are two "dark balls". They don't look like artifacts to me... any idea what they are?

Al.

Hi Al,

I believe them to be reminders that my camera's sensor has dust on the sensor window that's need cleaning.

I think those are image artifacts caused by my flat-field images not properly aligned with the stacked light-frame images and it leaves a shadow at the edge of where the dust motes are.

cheers
