Hi All
Originally posted this in beginners’ section but not really sure where it should be hahaha
a lot of processing on this one
I took 2 sets of images stacked and processed separately
1 set for the nebula and 1 set for the core
stretched using a combination of Archsinh Curves and levels
Then blended the 2 images using a mask in photoshop
I also used Topaz De Noise (probably overdone but i like the smoother look lol)
i processed the main image in several different ways and then used masks to blend the best parts into a final image.
happy for critique I feel it’s the only way to improve.
any suggestions on how I can improve the image would be appreciated
Equipment

I have done a little more with the image since original post, I brought out some more detail in the dark nebula and brightened the running man a little saturated the magentas a little more, the original attached for comparison
Adam JL commented on the CA and elongated stars (Thanks Adam 😊

I did try to remove the CA I tried using the eye dropper tool in raw to remove the CA but got funny brown squares see image attached
not sure what I done wrong or is there a different way to remove it?
As for the elongated stars I am finding I only get around 50% usable images with lens @ 300 to 350mm and If I go to 600mm well let’s not go there ha-ha and if there is any wind at all then I pack up and forget it.
I think this is due to the nature of the star tracker, its not what you call top of the shop Astro equipment and loading it with 3.5 kgs of camera and lens plus extra counter weight probable doesn’t help lol
but for now, im having a lot of fun with it and its very portable.
im using a manfrotto 190 tripod and have made a plywood shelf which clamps on the legs and hang 20kgs weight on it, that seemed to improve things a little
not sure if anyone else out there is using these trackers and has any suggestions on improving results.
Sorry for the long-winded post
Thanks
Mick
