Triumph of the airheads - late night Rant

The time is now. The 21st C.

Looking around, the Age of Enlightment and Grand Imperialism has passed, and what have we found?

An age where the fears and anxieties of the Medieval Mind expresses itself with all sorts of weird beliefs and superstitions? Long gone is the unalloyed belief in progress, the establishment of the Nobel Prize, the Philanthropic Foundation, supporting Medical Research, R&D, or even plain old charity...

no we give it all to the fortune teller...

How did my species drag itself out of the caves?

Well it did take about 100,000 years I suppose.

Perhaps we should have taken up astrology instead of astronomy

Money can't buy happiness... but it could buy a lot of astronomy gear!

if you place a giant mirror say a light year away in space and look at your own reflection in that mirror do you see your past?

yes i suppose you would. One year there and one year back equals what you looked like 2 years ago. But why would you want to waste 2 years of your life,LOL.

It would depend on the angle between you and the mirror, if you stood directly inline with the mirror, you would see your reflection, as it was, however if you offset the angle slightly you would see yourself disappearing in a Hyperbolic curve where your head was pointed to infinity but your feet would be somewhat swollen
