I didn't get it? Do you?

My son sent me the attached. I had to ask him to explain and then I had to I used to be fairly bright.

Do you get it?

Vampires are not reflected in a mirror...note the scopes a refractor and a reflector mechanism...the refractor sees him the reflecting does not.

The reason I was able to "get it" was because I encountered a cartoon on FB that I just could not work out and it really got to me...and I kept seeing pop up.

It showed a guy on a "soap box" preaching to folk walking by that "vampires were everywhere" ...made no sense to me however in the scene there were two guys carrying a large mirror ( as indicated by signage) and it was only reflecting the street not the people walking about...and so the guy preaching was preaching to vampires all around him...

How my brain held the trivia about vampires and reflection I can not say.

The current cartoon I could not fathom for a while (2 minutes) but then I noticed the telescopes were different and it then droped into place.

LOL...

My brain went to FOV issues, ie: Refractor wide FOV, SCT narrow FOV so refractor saw the guy, SCT didn't...

But, upon 'reflection' (pun intended), the mirror thing makes more sense

I saw it as one bloke checking out house windows while the other looked at the sky. I had forgotten reflectors use mirrors, yet always check that mine is clean.

Had me stumped!

Might have been easier if the scopes were actually pointing at the vampire.

Refractor and SCT

Glad neither has a star diagonal - that would then be ambiguous - cannot determine the type by looking at it (or a drawing of it).

If vampires can't see themselves in mirrors, how is it that their hair is always neat?

I expect that the only vampires that one gets to see are those in the movies and therefore we can reasonably deduce that their hair is always neat because those in "make up" cause it to be so.

Timely story in ABC on Vampyers and Frankenstein, amazing to think they both came from a rainy weekend piss up for some rich folk.
