NGC 3532 a bit differently

Here is a tentative treatment of NGC 3532. 17x 200 secs @ISO800 thru an ED80.
Processed to reveal the asterism rather than how many stars are there. Then treated to simulate an EP view though without actually worrying about field of view at this stage.
Hope someone likes it.

Doug

That a very nice effect Doug, I really like that.
If you get the chance I'd like to see that with a galaxy in the FOV.

Cheers

Thanks guys,
Ving, the EP view is a bit under 1deg according to a DSS plate comparison. I guess it would be similar to using a 12mm EP with the ED 80 (600mm fl)
cheers,
Doug

Hey Doug, I removed the stars for you on the image, to even more resemble looking through a telescope, I hope you don't mind.

No Ron I don't have a problem there at all. I was of two minds about doing the same thing. I like the version with no stars in the border areas, the original was intended to show the area outside the field, but not to contest it. I still can't make up my mind which is the better. I s'pose in the long run it comes down to a matter of personal preference. dang........I don't have one

cheers,
Doug
