Nice work! I've seen 1/4 inch, 5/16 inch and 3/8 inch tri-corner knobs in Bunnings. There is a threaded insert into the plastic body of the knob that accepts a bolt of the respective size. I used a 5/16 knob and re-tapped it with an 8mm tap to accept an 8mm bolt once.
www.skiffy.com do knobs - minimum 100 though! I have some M6 hex head fitting ones that Ambermile uses for the BC+F guide rings. I can post half a dozen to you if you have an address - they just tap onto the head of the bolt. Black too No charge.
