Blue Mountains Airfield DA Killed Off

Those of you who know the history of the Blue Mtns airfield may find this story from the Sydney Morning Herald of interest:

Interesting. Was that one of the roadblocks to using it?

I posted about it in the main thread; didn't get an answer, so not sure what the reason is/was or if it was just COVID.

Something similar happened here on the Sunshine coast
When Australia Zoo "Steve Irwin" wanted to run Helicopter tours
round the Glasshouse mountains and the coast.
8 hours a day 7 days a week.
It was backed by the council of the day, but again
People power won again and it was blocked by the EPA
and the government
Cheers

Blue Mountains Astronomy Club already has a deal with the current lease holder. We have been doing Astro this whole time weather allows. This is after we became an official club with all the trappings of insurance, official hierarchy and what not.

If your deal is with the Larsens the SMH article states they are to be evicted at the end of the month?

Best wishes for the future to you and your club, hopefully you can maintain your access to the site.

Instead of wild speculation, why don't you ask BMAstro first?

BMAstro is well aware of what is happening. Nothing has changed on our website. Our activities at Katoomba Airfield have not altered.

Neither has the situation changed that Katoomba Airfield remains private property, is still an operational Airfield and remains not open to public access.

Alex has answered on behalf of BMAstro club who are users of that site.
Any further questions should be directed to him in private.

Thanks
