Thanks Marc,

Some family members were there in late February 2020, just as as the COVID
pandemic started to broaden. All I got to see were some nice snapshots
including the view from the window of their tent

They described that night times were cold but the night skies magnificent.

More famous than the fact that The Martian was filmed there is that
T.E. Lawrence passed through Wadi Rum several times during the 1917-1918
Arab Revolt. His book, "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom", is what the rock
formation is named after.

David Lean filmed much of "Lawrence of Arabia" there because of the
connection and because of the incredible scenery.
