DVD VHS Combo machine not playing fair

Hi Guys one for the clever audio TV sort of stuff please.

I have an LG DVD player Recorder combo machine with a VHS Player as well all in the same unit.

TV is LG and all is fine, until i try and play a VHS tape form that very machine.

The DVD movie and/or music is all good, and the machine is connected with a HDMI cable.

I supports the DVD side of things but not the VHS side of things, so guys what is going on here or is it that the VHS stuff that i want to play is just to old.

Thank you in advance.

Leon

Does the tape play/all the mech seem to be working?
Do you get anything on the screen at all?

Does VHS play on HDMI or are there RCA/Composite Connections?

Hi Leon,
We used to deal with plenty of these at work. As mentioned, the digital media (DVD) uses the digital output (HDMI), and the analogue media (VHS) uses analogue output (Composite, SVideo, Component, or SCART). All part of the design.
Try and use the component if you have the option (5x RCAs).

Ok Andy will give that a go as the other suggestion from Hans didn't work either.

Sorry in advanced if I am stating the obvious but after you hooked the RCA connections to the TV did you search for the RCA inputs in the TV menu and select it as the source?

I know todays TV self sense the input source particularly with HDMI.

You may find that when your problem is solved, that you have another problem; VHS tapes degrade quite quickly compared to CDs,DVDs, and
audio tapes, so your tapes may not play very well anyway. I have a number
of much watched VHS tapes that are in various stages of deterioration,
some now unwatchable.

RB makes everyone do it. He's a nuisance to our sanity. He should be excommunicated to Greece
