Thanks Jerry,

That's what I was looking for, and found, last night. I thought that I had picked up the galaxy 3128 instead. I'll have to check out the galaxy to-night so I'll know the difference next time.

I got another surprise when I focused on what turned out to be Jupiter.

Nice going,
John.

Excellently composed image Jerry!!
Top colours and the stars appear to be resolve to the core...

What scope were you using?

Nice work.

Cheers
Rich

Omega Centauri.

Hi all,

Thanks for the good words.

The 'scope is a Takahashi TOA150.

I was practising focusing the camera (one of the more difficult things for me to get correct!) and thought that photographing a star cluster would be a good test. The stars occupy about 2x2 pixels on average and the resolution on the CCD is approx. 1.2 arc sec. per pixel.

Rgds,

Jerry.
