Carina + Prawn Nebulas w/QHY8

Hi All,
Did battle with the new QHY8 Camera last night, I must admit its not difficult to use (like anything else) once you get the hang of it, and I now find it as easy as the Canon to handle, Processing is still a mistery, Im using IP to do it and the Canon 300D Item to de-bayer, seems to work, but not real "pukka-sahab", hopefully soon an instruction will emerge on how to carry it out, and a plug-in for Astroart is on the way.

ngc 3372 Carina
ngc 3293 (Prawn nebula)

Pix. taken w/QHY8 + ED80, guided on an LX200 + MX7c, all were 5 x 6 Min. Exp. (NO DF removed, the Camera is Supercooled) aligned/added.

cheers......................Jim

Good one Jim, I have trouble with the processing as well at times, but it's fun learning.

Looks really good Jim, great detail.
Have you tried to increase the Offset a bit more, this way you will bring more detail and lighten up the background a little.
Also i'll soon email you how to do a DDP in MaximDL, this will really bring out the detail without saturating the colours.
