Cheshire Ep query

hi all

ive just have a question about the cheshire ep

when ive got it in the focuser i can see the cross hairs out of focus therefore making it hard to centre on the mirrors ect ect

is this normal or do i have a particular problem ?

Another forum member put me on the right track, I had exactly the same problem (thanks again slice of heaven!).

Try grabbing a torch and shining it into the side of the Cheshire (into the big hole) and try it again. I used my red astro-torch and it works great (even at night!).

I have considered chopping out the cross hairs from mine as they just seem to get in the way and serve little purpose.

I have finally sent away for my Cheshire! $29

I also ordered a 2" 2x GS Barlow. $79

Have to wait about 2 weeks for them though as Lee Andrews is on holidays in China at the moment. (holidays my foot! Bet he is checking out the Synta buy-out of Celestron and looking for deals. He could come back with some interesting news from GS too)
