Question How do you get chicken into the salt??

Ok, mates. I was discussing my trip to Oz in 2005 to my wife as we are planning to go together this October for 2 weeks. I described to her a burger with the lot with chips on the side. I then told her that I was asked if I wanted chicken salt on the chips. The young lass behind the counter was unable to tell me just what this substance is but I decided to try it anyway. I must say it was quite tasty. Been trying to explain it to the wife, but neither one of us understands just how this stuff is made.

How do you get the chicken into to the salt????

They keep the chickens under a heat lamp, this in turn makes them sweat.
The sweat is then dried and the salt crystals that are left are what you had on your chips!

You guys are so silly, the truth is as follows: Every fourth chicken is taken at birth and isolate in a hyperbaric chamber, at the age of 10 months, the isolated chicken is implanted with a slow release sodium chloride radioactive isotope, which decays slowly giving a unique flavour throughout the flesh of the chicken.

The chickens are then reintroduced back into the chicken population where they breed and the genetically encoded sodium chloride gene is passed on to the offspring.

You have been the victim of a fraud, because it is not the salt that carries the chicken flavour at all, it's the chicken that has been genetically enhanced with a salty flavour. The traditional sprinkling of salt on the chicken at the shopfront, is pure theatre to whet your appetite. It is actually just normal table salt.

Recent experiments have come up with some novel flavour sensations, we will soon be able to savour the taste delights of caramel fudge chicken and also salami and gherkin chicken. I hope this clears the issue up for you

Chicken salt. Another topic I never thought I'd see on IIS. I believe that particular mineral comes from IC 2994: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ead.php?t=9597

Don just a thought but do you guys have chicken flavoured potato chips like we do? (the kind you buy in plastic / alfoil bags to eat in the movies, etc) I'm guessing that maybe you don't, though I have heard they are popular in Mexico for some reason.

Here's an example:
http://www.taquitos.net/snacks.php?snack_code=1591

Well if you visualise for a sec a bag of chicken flavoured chips - and then remove the potato! What do you have left?

Viola!!! You now have Chicken Salt!!!!

How easy was that - and of course that is how they actually do make chicken salt - by removing the thin slices of potato and leaving the crispy salty flavoursome chickeny stuff.

I hope this has helped - if so my work here is now complete.

Oh boy. No, we don't have any chicken flavored chips here in the US of A. We somehow missed that one. And 1ponders, thanks for the links, but umm........chicken extract? I don't think I want to know how you get chicken extract. Is it painful? To the chooks, I mean.

Nah.

We get 'em drunk before we extract their flavour.

They don't feel a thing

Yep, then they are plucked and shoved thru a mincer! Then dried out in ovens for 12 hours, then pulverised into granules, then dried again, then powderised! Yummy
