Moon shots from Snake Valley Camp

Just a few waning crescent shots from Snake Valley, Friday & Sat night (Sat & Sun morning!).

First is the thin waning crescent, 30hr before New Moon (Sun morning). Neximage through 4.5" f8 reflector, processed in Registax, 4 images stitched in Photomerge Panorama. Imaging in a lightish sky, and difficult to get 'thin bits' without overexposing. You might see lines in background, depending on your screen settings.

2nd is moonrise Sunday morning - magic moment that a photo can't do justice to. The 'earthshine' rose first, clear as a bell, with detail. Fujifilm Finepix S5500, 3-sec @ f3.1, ISO 200.

3rd is Moon & Mercury, Saturday morning. Fujifilm Finepix S5500, 1/6-sec @f3.1, ISO 200.

4th is thin crescent on Sunday morning, just as the clouds were engulfing it. Finepix again, 1/2-sec @ f3.1, ISO 200. Wanted to keep thinness of crescent.

Cheers -
