Advice re Baader ClickLock

I have an Explore Scientific ED80 and find that I do not have enough backfocus for imaging. it is ever so slight 10-20mm but also means that I have to have the focuser fully extended (or close to) to reach suitable focus.

The scope comes with two extension tubes and I could buy another from ES although they do not have stock and are not responding to enquiries regarding ETA and postage costs.

This got me thinking that I could add a Baader ClickLock. I already have on on my Skywatcher 200P and I like the way they work.

So the question is do I go with one that screws in or one that clamps in?

The Screw in one would likely only just give me the amount of additional backfocus I need and I would still need have the focuser close to fully extended.

The clamp in one comes in a variety of extensions (as I am sure most are aware) and the 47mm one would allow me to reach focus without extending the focuser out as much. The scope does have a nice clamp on it with three screws so it should align well. I guess my only concern with the clamp in unit is in regards to having two clamped items holding the camera and alignment. On a positive note the clamp in unit would be able to be used on other scopes etc.

Interested to hear other's thoughts and/or what others may have done.

Sounds like you have too much back focus rather than not enough.
I think the screw in ones are probably better with regard to imaging application as the others depend on your thumbscrews holding them in alignment.
