New “The Imaging Source” Astronomy Cameras Resellers in Australia

Hi

I’ve just received (via e-mail) the fortnightly “Astronomy Cameras Newsletter” - June 20, 2007 from The Imaging Source.

The following new Astronomy retailers are listed in Australia:

Astronomy Online / York Optical (various locations)
Frontier Optics
My Astro shop
Telescope by U-Shop.

This is good news for those intending to purchase a DMK or DBK CCD camera.

Cheers

Dennis

That is great news!
More retailers should mean lower costs, more support, more people using these great cameras.

Hey Steve

I think he is in dire need of some therapy, or at least a little counseling to manage his equipment addiction.

And I know what it can do to a person!

Cheers

I had noted your comment Paul about the 20D in the for sale thread ... about what a great item it was ... and that you've been usng one lately ... and in another thread tonight that you HAVE actually ordered 3 new items (unspecified) ....

Yes Dennis I think you and Paul are like 2 peas in a pod that way - but man you guys can image, so if that's the price you pay then so be it - there's
no "excessive" equipment addiction around here!
(says the man who, barely a year ago, balked at spending $700 on a 10" dob)

Actually Paul now that I think about it I can clearly remember you and Ron and I sitting at his table one day chatting, and I asked if an Argo Navis was really worth putting on a 10" dob - expecting some "pros and cons" type banter for a while - only to be answered with 2 simultaneous "heck yes" 'end--of-discussion' type answers and that was it! So I firmly blame you and Ron for any and all spending, upgrading, etc I have done since then, which all started with the Argo navis equipped 12" dob not long after.

Not a problem Steve. I've got broad shoulders. Happy to take the blame for getting you more and more hooked

The 20D isn't mine unfortunately. It is a great camera though, fantastic dynamic range, about 3 times the 300D.

Wow! The price is certainly dropping

Bintel have the DMK 21AF04.AS for $539.

Thanks for the headsup.

I'm still deciding what I'll be getting but that's the best I've seen.

It’s about the amount that I recently paid, purchasing direct from TIS, including shipping etc. The Aussie $ is very strong at the moment, lowering the cost of imported goods like the DMK's.

Now is a good time to be making those expensive overseas purchases it seems.

Cheers

Dennis
