gravitator

Hey Everyone....

A friend of mine sent me a "Galileo Gravitator" from the US and its a real nice addition to my astronomy shelf at home, it comes with the 110V power supply but a quick trip to Dick Smith sorted that out, its really amazing....

For those who dont know what it is, its a cage that comes with spheres of planets and you turn this thing on, put a planet in the cage and use a knob to adjust a magnetic field and it floats in mid air.....

I havent seen anything like it, but seen it advertised in American Astronomy magazines and always wanted one but no retail outlets sell them here, not that im aware of.....it has a 12V DC input of 200mA and a 240V regulated power supply adaptor from the "Dick S" sorted the 110V one out.....

It comes with Moon, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn planet spheres and the Saturn one really looks the best!

How many of you out there have one??

Cheers!

Nope, haven't got one of them but it sounds really cool.
Post a photo if you get a chance. I'd like to see one working.

Cheers

Yep, you can get them in Oz according to this site, unless they just import them for you.

I have the space shuttle, but not the gravitating mechanism, coolthings.com.au had the shuttle for $12, they had no stock of the levitator and were not getting any more.

OK!

Heres the pic i promised.....i know its late....about a MONTH late but work has been frantic lately and i havent had much time to myself....

This is a pic of the Saturn model in the gravitator!
As you can see it really does float in mid-air!
There is also one of the Moon, and Jupiter and Mars (not pictured)
Its a little tricky to get going but once it floats it looks awesome!

Cheers!
