First light of C9.25 EdgeHD

Hi gang, I've recently purchased a C9.25 EdgeHD in preparation for galaxy season and my move to rural Australia (Charleville). Since I can't image galaxies successfully in my current backyard due to heavy light pollution, thought i'd do the popular pillars of creation in hubble palette.

I'm having some field curvature even though I've set the backspacing to the recommended amount so I'll have to trial and error until I get it dialed in.

Hi Tony,
A great first light. I think field curvature with a reasonable sized CCD will be a challenge.

Looks very impressive!
The built-in corrector in the Celestron HD design is supposed to give good corrections, and flat fields......

Hi Ken, I get an extremely flat field without the reducer. Celestron advertises that the back spacing does not change with the reducer (hence the high price) but research shows that many people found that they had to adjust the spacing for their own separate gear.

At the price, I’d expect it to perform beyond expectations.
