Another teaser

Here's one from later in the session, one of the last ones I captured. The seeing started deteriorating shortly after this.

Interesting to note that this was taken at exactly the same time as Anthony's. It's great to see the comparison of the features (regardless of image scale), including Io.

Almost every avi so far has been equal quality. It's going to be one nice animation (I hope). There's better data than this image, but I chose to post this one because it was taken at the same time as Bird's.

After recording this avi I re-checked collimation, tried an extension tube (and failed because there was too much flex), so I pulled the filterwheel out from the 5x powermate for more image scale. It did result in a bigger image but the seeing couldn't support it so it's not as "nice" as the ones captured at this scale. I'll post it later anyway.

More data to go through, more processing to do, then the animation

Lovely work Mike. The extra aperture seems to be giving you greater depth of image. Good to see you've made the most of the clear weather. The next few days are not looking too good!

I wonder what sort of scale your new setup is capable of... maybe a 2x barlow in teh 5x?

Hmm, must upgrade the Mewlon 180 to a Mewlon 300 to keep up with these amazing images...Fantastic detail for such a large image scale too.

Cheers

Dennis
