Registax Question

I took a 11.6 MB AVI video using the same 4MB Pentax Digital camera mounted on my Orion SteadyPix. The frame rate of the AVI is 30 Fps with a data rate of 395 Kbps..When I tried to load the file in Registax ver 4.0, I get a error message saying " Failed to Start AVI decompression"... Can anyone tell me why it won't let me load that AVI file? I can load a Jpg file and view and adjust the picture...What type of AVI does it have to be or does the Frame Rate or Data Rate have sometime to do with it? Still learning...

Not sure about that there could be some sort of proprietary compression involved, but try downloading Virtual Dub opening the avi in that and saving it as an image sequence ( "Save image sequence" under the file menu and select bmps for image type). Once it is finished select all the bmps in windoze explorer and drag and drop them into the Registax window and see if that works.

I normally get that when I have too many frames. I think like v3, v4 also has a frame limit. How many frames in your avi file are you trying to open? Even if Registax does not open the file it will tell you on the slider part of the screen. Limit is around 2200 frames I think.
