M104 - Sombrero Local Group

It might appear to be a poor attempt, but we have to start somewhere.

However for my tiny 85mm scope (and this image has been heavily cropped) I think I can see 6 more spiral galaxies in the surrounds.

So, being a beginner and totally naive, and for my own purposes named them!

The 'Sombrero Local Group'.

You’ve done well to get a crisp disk on the Sombrero, Peter

I've never tried the Sombrero myself but it doesn't look like it is an easy one to do even with the higher end equipment.

Hi Lewis

Go for it but use another colour.

We can rename it the 'Sombrero IIS local group'

thanks BJ

You know how to see such things...I can't make out the 'dark band'.

If you can be bothered throw in a few circles!

Thanks all for the encouragement.

When I get my 'very expensive' scope I might go back there and have another look...
