Is it Worth even trying in the Wind?

I was thinking going out to the OBS tonight to test the collimation on the Cassegrain, but the Wind is pretty strong and I have a yard full of small branches. Is this current NSW westerly going to die out after sunset? Sometimes it does. Even if it does, will the winds aloft permit any sort of useful star collimation activity. It is a shame to waste a clear night.

It's clear and the wind has dropped here in western Sydney. Doing PE runs in PEM pro as we speak. Sunday night is supposed to be better.

Thanks Marc, I did get the chance to do my star testing last night, after 11pm. The sky had settled down a fair bit, still a little shimmer but no dancing around.
Yes, tonight is looking better. Fingers crossed.

I laid down after dinner and decided to watch a little YouTube and woke up at 5 am...I think I must have really needed sleep because I have been out most nights even if it's cloudy doing something with only one night staying inside when it rained.

Well it's a decent night here. Last night I tried and failed to find NGC 6188 so tonight I thought I would use Goto which I never use however not finding the target last night I thought I would use it...no luck I could not get it to work .. for whatever reason I kept coming up 3 degrees out ...so I checked PA..out by a mile..fixed that and tried again I don't know what I did wrong but probably was in a wrong star cause the damn thing was out by 30 degrees ..I had enough so I thought ..I know I will set the Dec at 49 degrees and try again..usually I can find an object by lining the scope up like a pool cue so ordinarily I don't even use the dials .well up and down still could not see it..so I selected HA dialled up the gain and went for a 30 second sub where I thought it should be and happy days it was there ..a fair bit off centre which was easy fixed so now it's cranking away on Ha at ridiculous high gain at 60 seconds cause it's still unguided even though I have the guide set up I have not added it to the mix. But man am I happy that it was where I was looking ..all those years playing pool sure help in astronomy.
Anyways I have to grab what I can and get to bed by at the latest 1 am as I am so tired plus have to eaten so...
