Unknown Object Sighted

The other night 19.4.20 sometime just before about 8pm I was in the backyard with the scope just having a play around with it. I noticed (just with eyesight not through scope) a bright object travelling reasonably quickly from the west across to the east. It was about the size of a star just as bright and did not have any flashing lights to indicate it was an aircraft. As it got to the east it seemed to fade away, there were no lights at the rear. I called the wife out so she could see it too. She had mentioned she had seen this same/similar "object" the night before when she was out in the front yard, possibly around the same time, maybe a little earlier. I don't think it was an aircraft?. Did anyone else happen to notice it, or know what it might be, if there is anything hanging around at that time of night and travelling that area at the moment.

From what you describe, Brett, it was the International Space Station:

It appeared on the 19th around the time you mentioned.

It's expected to make another apparition tonight at 6:47pm - see the link above for details.

Alex.

There would have been a quite bright ISS pass (I assume Maryland meaning Maryland, Newcastle?) but that would have been around 6:45 not 8PM. That would have gone from the northwest to the southeast.

Spot The Station times for Newcastle. You can change the location

But I'm only assuming the timing for the object from the vague "before 8pm" time...

I could be wrong...

Thanks for the info. Sorry about the time being a bit vague. I wasn't really paying attention to the time and it was a bit of an after thought to even bother posting it on here, so the time was a bit of a guess.
