Supermoon with a Sun

With so many moon shots going around at the moment and not much else to take while isolated at home, I thought I'd join the fun. This is a shot of the Supermoon on the 8th. The moon was so close to earth on Wednesday that I decided I only needed to use a 200mm lens but I did cheat by shooting it in video crop mode on the Canon 550d and processed it in Pipp, AutoStakkert, Registax and Photoshop. Despite the short focal length, in video crop mode it just fitted in the frame and because I only used a monopod to help iron out the shakes, it was difficult to keep it there.

200mm f 2.8 Sun lens @ f 8, 100 iso, used about 2000 frames at 50fps.

You've done well but as for the Super moon hype I must be getting older and more cranky at overdone Moonage at perigee. But you have done a great job using the tools at hand.

I agree David, the media's ignorance on matters like this annoys me too. It's really just another full moon and I challenge anyone to discern by naked eye the difference it makes to the size of the moon to any other full moon throughout the year. The name sounds good and if some people think it is bigger and brighter than normal, they probably don't look at the moon very often! I just happened to see it when I walked outside and shot it with the lens that was currently on my camera.

Everyone’s got lunar fever at the moment, waiting for the dark
Nice image !!
There’s something about our closest celestial neighbour that’s draws people to look up , view through a big scope and image it , though not the most popular target for AP
