Atik - 16IC Monochrome CCD

Has anyone had any experience with this camera? Atik - 16IC Monochrome CCD. I'm interested in all experiences both pro and con. I thought for the price it didn't look too bad for a cooled CCD.

There were initial problems with lack of software support hence slow rate of adoption. I know MaximDL now has drivers, not sure about the others.

Apparently you can run it through K3 ccd these days as well as IRIS and MaximDL.

That would be the Atik 16HR rather than the IC. The software support thing was simply the function keys were not pre-assigned as the manual stated. The 16IC was designed as a proper entry level camera along the DSI ProII lines.

Yes it's the IC I'm looking at Arthur.

Thanks Ken, I thought about the colour, but I need to use monchrome to get full resolution in each channel.

Any one else with feedback?

What other cameras would be similar to the ATiK 16IC?

Hi Paul,

The QHY's 6 and 2 and the DSI Pro II's are i believe in the same category. The Meade DSI Pro has a bigger user base so easier to get feedback on that one. The Meade gallery is very impressive. Still the QHY's are less expensive than most of the others out there. But the the current models are fairly new and results or only coming in now.

Regards

Could try the Atik Yahoo User group? Or the Artemis one?
