First lets just say I am a happy chap because Saturn just hung there while I messed around on my laptop to Image it. Gone are the days when I paid more attention to the Dob and trying to keep Saturn in the FOV. Amen to that.
Almost a Full moon out there and the clouds parted to permit me some quality time with my new toy. And the dew shield I made for it today.
I did not see any dew today, and one more thing its awesome as a light shield. I mean i took it off while Saturn was on my laptop screen and noticed Saturn just dissapered thanks to the moonlight. Stuck it back on and there it popped up again. Wow. I am so glad I made this myself. Thanks to everyone who inspired and encouraged me to DIY. The best 15$ I ever spent.
My focus was off, I think. I am learning what "Image shift" means very quickly and I feel a fine focus mod coming up soon. I recalled some time back people advised me to focus on a bright star first. Well I did (noted the collimation was off a bit). I did nothing about the collimation, as I need to read up on that. I used Rigel and noticed a small tiny double, I have no idea if Rigel is supposed to have a double or not. See animation.
I did one at 5fps then 1 at 10fps at F10. Your all welcome to try and improve it if possible. Processed in registax as per Mikes guide.

Great effort Fahim. There's nothing to be worried about with collimation, if you have bob's knobs you can collimate from the EP by simply reaching around the front of the OTA (take the dew shield off first). If you're buying bobs knobs you need to be aware that there are a couple of secondary designs, one of which requires slightly longer threads than the other.
Phil the LX90 came with Bobs Knobs on there from the previous owner. He had this little print out from the net that had a diagram of which knob to turn in which direction CW CCW depending on what you see. I think it was written by a Steve. I am trying to find it.
Thanks guys, I tried to focus so I could see the division on the screen but it was so tiny, used a magnifying glass as someone else suggested to me before. I find that my experience with the dob, has not been futile. I know have time to recall all the suggestions people made and actually have hands free to do them.

yep, rigel is (as already stated) a double. theres stax more of them in orion. I did a seeing double on this constellation if you want to check some more out
