Seeing in Sydney

Been ordinary recently ; only patches of reasonable seeing
when I've tried some doubles...Porrima barely ...only the fabulous Xi Bootis
and Alpha Herculis were easy in a 130mm triplet or CPC 925!

Tapped on the interactive map to see and ..there's a big one over Eastern NSW ATM.

Good to hear someone's seeing something nice here Gus.

But, the Big Moon and Jet stream..Ekkh!

Just had a look tonight - tantalisingly clear, but seeing not much good.

For those who were not out last night in the Sydney area, check out my post in the observation reports. If you were not out observing, you missed a great night of steady seeing.

Likewise, the seeing here last night was pretty good, maybe 6 /10 but did seem to go off a little later in the evening. Spent a pleasant few hours observing and imaging the planets with a 10"newt, but light pollution around here kills any desire for dsos'. Should get around to doing more double star observing on these steady nights.
Tonight is supposed to be a calm jetstream too so may have to miss some of the cricket for a while. Also a shadow transit and Red Spot on Jupiter just after dark for a bonus.
